About The Winged Ox

The Rev. Eric Williams
Jamestown, New York, United States
The winged ox has been used as St. Luke's avatar from almost the beginning of Christianity. In the second century, Irenaeus drew upon Ezekiel 1:1-21 and Revelation 4:6-8 to link each gospel (Matthew, Mark, Luke and John) to the fantastical creatures described in these biblical passages. You can read more about this here. We are using this long-standing symbol to connect our podcast with our web site www.wingedox.com. On a deeper level, we hope that you will find this podcast both enriches your spiritual life and leads you to join us at St. Luke's or a community of faith in your area.
